We wish to thank our father, Paul Dayton, for teaching us to honor our heritage. Although he was a quiet and humble man, his pride of family was evident. Dayton Brothers Lumber was created about a year after dad returned from the navy in WWII, and continued for fifty years. He and uncle “Chip” provided employment, promoting a strong work ethic for many in the family.

Dad loved the independent lifestyle and the outdoors freedom that his career gave him. He worked hard and profited little, but was content. I asked him one time if he would do anything different and without hesitating he told me no.
